Instructor: Janusz Pozniak, DH McNabb

Our practices and what we make line the history books and take in aspects of the Studio Glass movement. We look forward to refining your glassmaking prowess not just as a maker but also as a thinker and assistant to the material.

Utilitarian wares to sculptural objects will be made and common threads and inspirations will be drawn. We will go over a wide range of techniques from cane to wraps, handles and fades to the many various types of punties and their how's and whys.

During our brief time we will stress the small stuff from good gathers and bubble setups to explaining how to straighten and fix various forms when things donโ€™t go as planned. Teamwork will be stressed. Simply another set of eyes can be refreshing and help insure that the object(s) you collect from the annealer were worth your time.

Janusz brings over 30 years of experience and DH brings over 20 years. They worked together in Seattle on Januszโ€™s own projects and assisted Dante Marioni, Lino Tagliapietra and others. These shared experiences have developed their own individual practices but most importantly they look forward to making objects together and aiding you in your pursuits during this week.
